Obituary: Allene Hobbs, 81

Posted
Allene Hobbs was born in Ft. Worth Texas to Francis and Austin Salyer in April, 1936 and her spirit was released March 26, 2018 in Austin. People were drawn to her friendly, generous personality and zest for life. Her nicknames were Roadrunner and Dragonfly because she was always on the move. She loved bird-watching, rock collecting, reading and traveling. She lived in Austin, Spicewood, and Granbury, Texas, making friends everywhere she went. Allene's smile could light up the room, her laugh encouraged listeners to share the joy, and her enthusiasm was contagious!
Our thanks to the caring staff at Anderson Mill Assisted Living for their excellent care during the final year of her life.

Allene excelled as an accountant, working in the private sector, at TxDOT and at the Texas National Guard Armory Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Johnny, and leaves behind children, grandchildren and numerous family and friends who mourn her passing and cherish her memory.

Services will be held April 7, 2018 at 1:30 at the All Faiths Funeral Home north chapel, followed by a brief ceremony at the Fall Creek Cemetery in Spicewood for internment next to her beloved husband Lindsey and other dear family members. Reception to follow.
