Commissioners fail salary request

Williamson County Clerk Nancy Rister asked the Williamson County Commissioners Court to make an exception to their compensation policy, but not utilizing full salary after a reorganization dropped salaries by $10,000. The request failed. “I take pride in trying to keep my budget low,” Rister said. “When it comes to the General Fund, I don’t spend money when I don’t need to.” Rister explained that funds for the salary request would be taken from the Special Fund. She also said that it is important to hire internally, as she did with an assistant supervisor position.
