A counselor at Leander IDS’s Vista Ridge High School has resigned after allegations of unprofessional conduct.

According to a brief statement posted this week on the LISD website, Alisa Ellis was placed on administrative leave March 4 pending an investigation, then resigned March 8.

“Because this is a personnel and law enforcement situation, we cannot legally offer any additional details,” Vista Ridge principal Paul Johnson wrote.

Alicia Inns, a spokesperson with the Cedar Park Police Department, confirmed there is an "active and ongoing investigation at this time."

However, because no charges have been filed, she could make no further comment.

“Some of our community members have expressed a concern about the well-being of students regarding this situation” wrote Johnson. “We work closely with law enforcement to investigate any report of misconduct.”

Johnson said a search for a new counselor has begun.

According to the Vandergrift High School Basketball booster website, Ellis has been married to basketball coach Cliff Ellis for 10 years. They have two children.
