Shelly Lynn Caperton, 62, of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. Born on September 20, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee, Shelly was raised in Toledo, Ohio, where she attended Morrison R. Waite High School and studied cosmetology. In her adult years, she made Texas her home, living most of her life in the Leander and Cedar Park area.

Shelly dedicated 22 years of faithful service to New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park as the Facilities Team Manager, where she formed deep and lasting bonds with staff and members of the congregation. Her commitment to her work and church was matched only by her devotion to her family.

Shelly had a love for decorating, cleaning, and organizing — always taking pride in creating a welcoming and beautiful space for those around her. She was known for her gracious heart and willingness to help anyone in need. Her laugh was contagious, and her bright smile could light up any room.

A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, Shelly is survived by her children: Danielle and her spouse Derik, Caleb, and Calli; her grandchildren Alexis, Aubrey, and Beau; her siblings Chasidy, Nicole, Eric, and Jason; and her nieces and nephews: Isabella, Nathan, Kailee, Zack, Trista, Tara, and Deven. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Cooper, her cat Panda Bear, and her cherished grandpups Oliver and Thea.

Shelly loved music and dancing — especially to Country, Motown, and Christian tunes. The beach was her happy place, and she treasured her visits to Florida to spend time with her sister Chasidy, soaking in the ocean and sunshine.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Shelly’s life will be held on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park, Texas.
