Texas schools have reported more coronavirus cases in less than two months than they did in the entire 2020-21 school year

Less than two months into this school year, the number of reported coronavirus cases among students has surpassed the total from the entire 2020-21 school year. But state data on school cases is incomplete and likely an undercount.
