The Cedar Park City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday to hold their second readings and public hearings on both the city's proposed Fiscal Year 2020 budget and the proposed tax rate.
The proposed rate included a one-tenth of a cent reduction to the property tax rate. However, due to increased property values and new businesses in the city, the city's tax revenues will be going up approximately 7.5 percent despite the rate reduction.
The council will also interview Cedar Park Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale's two remaining reappointments to city board seats - Kelly Brent to the Economic Development Sales Tax (Type A) Corporation Board and Lance Gunn to the Community Development (Type B) Corporation Board.
The council plans to hold the votes on all of the different council member's appointees at the Sept. 26 meeting.
