Cedar Park, Vista Ridge athletes lead All-District lists

Posted

Nicole Leff has been the cream of the district crop for two years in a row.

For the second year in a row, the Cedar Park forward has been named district MVP, helping the Lady Timberwolves win the district title for the second year in a row. Sophomore guard Alisa Knight was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Head coach Donny Ott was named Coach of the Year for the second straight season. The Lady Timberwolves have gone 26-0 in district play in his two years at the helm.

Cedar Park led the way with seven athletes named to the first-team, second-team and honorable mention lists.

Rouse has become a perennial playoff team and continued that tradition this season. Freshman guard Cailyn Kieper was named the Newcomer of the Year. She scored five points in the Lady Raiders’ first-round playoff game.

In District 13-6A, Vista Ridge and Cedar Ridge had a memorable showdown in the regional quarterfinals and two of the offensive leaders from that game took home season honors. Vista Ridge junior Victoria Baker and Cedar Ridge senior Taryn Wills were co-Offensive MVPs.

Jordyn Marshall, who hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points for the Lady Raiders in the regional quarterfinals, was named Newcomer of the Year.

Westwood senior Makayla Coy was named the Defensive MVP. The Lady Warriors won the final three regular-season games and beat Round Rock in a playoff play-in game to qualify for the postseason.
