CENTRAL TEXAS – The new nonprofit organization Central Texas Philharmonic, formed through the merger of Round Rock Symphony and Georgetown Symphony Society, presents its first concert under its new name in early September. This concert will feature world renowned pianist Anton Nel.

Central Texas Philharmonic's Musical Director, Stefan Sanders, looking forward to the onset of the first season, shares:

“All of our programs this season are fantastic, but I am really looking forward to starting things off on September 8th with the orchestra’s dear friend and colleague, world renowned piano virtuoso and pedagogue, Central Texas’ own Anton Nel performing my favorite of Beethoven’s Piano Concertos, No. 4 in G major. Anton is a cherished colleague and collaborator. Each time he is with us, we are all so inspired by his artistry and generosity. He really is a gift. This performance signals the beginning of the CTP and I wouldn’t want to start this journey with anyone else.”

This concert program will include the following compositions:

Jacques Offenbach/Carl Binder – Orpheus in the Underworld Overture
Igor Stravinsky – The Firebird Suite, 1919
Beethoven – Piano Concerto No. 4, op. 58, G major, Anton Nel, piano

The New York Times lauds Anton Nel as,”...an uncommonly elegant pianist.” We are enormously proud to share the stage with this fine musician at our first concert as the Central Texas Philharmonic.
