The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will hold a free adoption event for Memorial Day weekend.
The public is invited to visit the shelter Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, May 28, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. All dogs and cats seven months and older will be available for a free adoption (donations graciously accepted).
The shelter is also asking for volunteers to foster large and medium-sized dogs who have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Cheryl Schneider, Williamson County animal services director, encourages the community to be involved in the shelter’s lifesaving mission. “We rely heavily on our community members to save the lives of the animals in our care. Our community is the number one reason that we have saved 90 percent or more of our shelter dogs and cats. Please celebrate the summer season by adopting or fostering!”
All dogs and cats available for adoption will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, given the appropriate vaccinations, tested for heartworms (dogs) and FeLv (cats).
Each adopter will also receive a voucher for a free wellness exam and coupons to various pet stores.
