Williamson County Commissioners Court will begin live streaming its weekly meetings with its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 12.
The Travis County Commissioners Court already live streams its weekly meetings. Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock all stream their city council, and Lago Vista added live streaming last April.
"It is 2019, and the opportunity to live stream the work of government is amazing," said Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell.
Williamson commissioners meet each Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioner's Courtroom at 710 Main Street in Georgetown. Live streams will be available on the county's website, www.wilco.org, under the Transparency tab.
County officials approved the plan to live stream meetings on Feb. 5, noting that video recordings of weekly meetings already are already made available to the public, available each week, so adding a live stream of meetings would not cost the county any additional money.
"This county judge is dedicated to transparency. We invite everyone to join us Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. to watch county government in action," said Gravell.
