GEORGETOWN, Texas - A Williamson County jury sentenced a Cedar Park man to 30 years in prison after convicting him of cocaine possession.

Haybert Ronald Lee, 45, was found guilty Sept. 22 of possession of a controlled substance, according to the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office. Judge Sarah Bruchmiller presided over the trial.

Lee was arrested Jan. 2 after Cedar Park police responded to a 911 call at a residence, prosecutors said.

The caller, identified by prosecutors as Lee’s girlfriend, told police she had a protective order prohibiting Lee from being at the residence. Officers found Lee inside when they arrived.

Police also found a bag containing what appeared to be a controlled substance near Lee’s personal property, according to the district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors said officers found hundreds of small bags with panda prints inside a larger bag containing suspected cocaine. A digital scale and two identification cards belonging to Lee were also nearby.

Testing by the Texas Department of Public Safety determined the substance included more than 5 grams of cocaine, prosecutors said.

Lee denied the drugs belonged to him and later said they belonged to a teenager who lived at the residence, according to the district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors presented evidence of Lee’s criminal history during the punishment phase. The district attorney’s office said Lee previously served prison sentences in Harris County for assault of a public servant and two robberies.

Lee also was convicted in 2025 of assaulting a different girlfriend, prosecutors said. He was on bond in another assault case involving his current girlfriend when he was arrested in January.

“This sentence reflects the seriousness of Mr. Lee’s continued disregard for the law,” Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick said in the official release.

Dick also linked illegal drugs with other criminal activity and said his office would continue seeking significant sentences against repeat offenders.

“I want to thank the Cedar Park Police Department for their swift response and thorough investigation and the jury for their service in delivering justice,” Dick said.
