Leander ISD meal applications could earn teacher $1,000

Leander Independent School District says that families can help their campus earn $1,000 in school supplies for a teacher by completing a School Meal Benefit application by Sept. 24.

The LISD campus with the most completed applications will have the opportunity to award the $1,000 prize. Southwest Foodservice Excellence, the district’s food service management company, is sponsoring the incentive.

Families do not have to qualify for meal benefits for their applications to count toward their campus total.

The district said approved families may receive meal benefits. Applications also can help schools qualify for state and federal funding and resources, including Title I programs and technology grants.

Families approved for meal benefits in 2025 should submit a new application by Sept. 24 to continue benefits for the 2026-27 school year.
